On the face of it, this model looks like a repaint of EFE's Manchester Style Fleetline. Nothing could be further from the truth. The more I looked at the casting, the more I realised how it differed from a Western spec Fleetline and in the end the following changes were made which involved cutting the lower deck into pieces and sticking it back together again.

The appalling EFE bustle was removed and a proper Fleetline one fitted from another EFE model. The rear bulkhead was re-organised with a different shape of window fitted. The windscreen aperture was reshaped and a new double curvature screen fitted. The front end was altered by removing some beading, removing the fog lamp trim and adding lamps, removing the BMAC clusters and fitting new ones the other way around. The wing mirrors were altered. The side windows were lowered by about 1.5mm and a small side window was added beside the staircase. The side indicators were removed and new ones fitted. The over-wheel-arch rear seats were replaced with benches and all seats fitted with grab handles.

I had planned to produce a Clydeside version as well but the amount of work involved is prohibitive.
