MCW METROBUS Mk1

This model is a repaint of OOCs Metrobus casting, in single door Mk1 form. Modifications to this model were limited to remaking of the front indicators which were incorrect for the prototype and moulding of front fog lamps. I also had to make a new two-leaf door as the model I used came with the four-leaf. I added some plastic card around the destination box to lift it slightly. I also fitted an excellent Taylor Precision Models etched brass grille. This thankfully comes with a badge for which a good decal was not available. A cashbox, ticket machine and PAYE sign were also added.

The glazing on this model was originally glued in place and caused me various problems. I have since been given the advice that placing the model in hot water softens the glue and allows the glazing to be more easily pulled away.

THIS MODEL IS FOR SALE AND I WOULD WELCOME SERIOUS OFFERS FOR IT. IF I GET AN APPROPRIATE OFFER IT WILL BE SOLD THERE AND THEN - OTHERWISE I PLAN TO REPAINT IT WITH MY LATER MIXES OF YELLOW AND GREEN.

To my knowledge, none of the five Mk1 Metrobuses for Glasgow have survived.
