Strathclyde PTE converted five of their early Mk2 Metrobuses for use as coaches. MB22 was the first and best appointed of the conversions which featured uprated
rear axles, full carpeting and moquette upholstery on high-backed coach seats. The side number blinds were also removed from MB22. The vehicles were painted in the livery of the coach fleet. They were returned to the service fleet before disposal.
The model is from OOC and has been changed around the rear upper window, as Strathclyde specified the larger window/emergency exit.
The interior was fitted with spare coach seat backs from EFE Y-types together with such details as a cashbox, dashboard moulding, bulkhead and grabrails inside the door.
As yet no Strathclyde Metrobus has been saved for preservation.
