The shortened Y-type is available as a resin shell from Mike Pannell. This model was featured in Issue 36 of Model Buses magazine as part of a review for the then new bodyshell.

I chose to represent a later model Albion Viking which has a rear engine and therefore looks quite different to under-floor engined Y-types. The modifications include removing the front bumper, adding a side engine access panel, reinstating the sky-lights in the roof, altering the interior seating arrangement to accommodate the engine, adding wheel nuts and altering the rear end design using plastic card and fine metal strip for the beading. This permitted the opportunity to fit the correct design of rear lights. Most Northern Vikings had vertical side indicators but this batch did have the round bubble type as fitted to the model. I also added detail to the bulkhead around the driver and entrance.
