This is really the only car I have made from bits. The shell came from Tamiya's RS500 kit with modifications to the front bumper. A sunroof was added and the bonnet removed. The wheels are from an old BMW 535i possibly of Fujimi manufacture. They had to be modified to accept Tamiya's bolt for fitting to the hub. The rest of the car came from the XR4i kit which means that it incorrectly has a V6 engine. I could probably have found a good replica engine but to be honest the bonnets of my models tend to stay down and I like the quality of the model engine from the XR4i. I had to make new seat backs which came from a 1/25 scale diecast and the new seat shape was modified with filler. The RS500 steering wheel was (a bit crudely) modified as appropriate, and the dash detailed correctly. The spoiler is the RS500 item with the extra lip filed off. Additionally bodyside mouldings were produced from plastic card and side indicators added. I also used spare mesh from other kits to fill in the front vents - a feature I added to my Eggenberger RS500 at a later time.
