ALEXANDER PDR1 ATLANTEAN
GREATER GLASGOW LA558 (BGA 516K)

This model is broadly similar to my model of LA367.
It is fitted with a new syle front panel - the one EFE should have produced instead of the AL style front which they did. This was built up by first cutting a deep groove into the original panel and then using layers of filler and plastic card to create the shape.
The bus also has a second door which is a whitemetal item with filler around it to add guttering etc. The interior was modified to accommodate this by replacing most of the floor, removing a seat and adding a step and draft screens. The bustle shared much detail with the AN68 type I use so I modified one
to include extra moulding and new lights in the correct position. Some of the H, J and K registered GGPTE Atlanteans had different mouldings on the bustle sides - similar to earlier PDRs rather than AN68s and I have no idea what the original fitting was on each batch as most got swapped around.
Shortly, the yellow on this model will be repainted with a more accurate match and it will receive different adverts.
Similar LA510 (XGA 8J) still exists and will be used to help restore LA517 (XGA 15J) which is expected to return to Glasgow and be painted into Corporation colours. Unfortunately it's owner does not seem concerned about restoring it's dual door configuration, despite their choice of livery. Nevertheless the bus is in a very complete and original though delapidated condition.
